The Cats have it!

Cravendale Cats

Just as we we were counting down our top tracks/albums/gigs/videos of 2011 in December, so were the likes of Campaign, Adweek and Ad Age compiling their own lists of the year’s top commercials and Agencies.

We were honoured to find out over the Christmas break that three campaigns with music supervised by Tonic featured in ITV’s Top 20 ‘Ad of the Year’ list!

The Lynx commercial we worked on with BBH London, featuring a re-work of AIR’s classic, “Sexy Boy”; Weetabix, also with BBH, and their dubstepping teddy bears soundtracked by “A New World”(Mord Fustang) and…the Cravendale Cats from W+K London at Number 1!

Featuring a cinematic heist score from Bristol-based collective, Multiverse, the Cats with Thumbs made it into three countdowns: Campaign Magazine’s Top 10 TV and Cinema Ads of 2011, TBS’ funniest commercials of 2011 and ITV’s Ad of the Year.

Thanks to all who voted for the ads and compiled the countdowns!

Congratulations is also due to some of the Agencies we’ve worked with over the last year on their wins –

BBH London – Campaign Magazine’s Agency of the Year
Mcgarrybowen – Adweek’s 2011 U.S. Agency of the Year
Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam – Heineken ‘The Entrance’ made Ad Age’s ’10 most killer pieces of creative 2011′ list.

Happy New Year from all of us here at Tonic – here’s to more in 2012!
